My hometown is Auburn, California. Auburn is a very small town in between the state capitol Sacramento and bright blue Lake Tahoe. I have lived in Auburn for probably about 10 years now and not a lot has changed within that time frame. Well unless you count the recent expansions of fast food chains that aren’t exactly fast food but still qualify like Panera Bread and Chipotle. The addition of these restaurants added a lot of excitement among the community. One thing that makes Auburn unique is the small town atmosphere that still possesses a lot of character and activities for its community members. My friends and i really enjoy going hiking and sunbathing by the local river banks. My favorite part about my hometown is how close the community is. Most of the folks in Auburn are very friendly and easily approachable. This makes going to the grocery store or running everyday errons a little more fun. My least favorite part about Auburn is there are a lot of senior citizens and it is primarily a retirement heaven filed with golf courses and hair salons. This is a little bit of a bummer because quiet hours are more enforced. Most restaurants are closed before 10 pm and as high school kids we are not old enough to go to the bars so this our activities are pretty limited. After college i think i would consider moving back into Auburn if i was planning on starting a family or retiring. Auburn is a good place for young children and retirement.
