- sometimes already in order because of the way you find the sources
- goal of writing is to rearrange your ideas, notes, and quotes
- use quotes that best support your arguments, not what you have read in other peoples notes
- first step is looking over individual piece of information that is written and assign it in a general category
- “if i were to file this database would i refile it”
- “What would i file it under”
- you can refuse categories to no more than a page on the listings
