My current major is Parks and Recreation Hospitality focusing on Event Management. I decided to switch over to this from my previous major because I worked at Hard Summer music festival in Los Angeles and I had a really good experience. During the festival I worked the VIP admissions lane. It was very exciting because It was fast paced and I worked with a lot of cool people who had interesting stories about meeting celebrities and dealing with crazy fans at past festivals. During my shift I met a couple famous edm artists who came through my line including Fisher and Valentino Khan. I have never met anyone famous before so this was a really cool event for me. Since I had so much fun at this festival I thought it would be really cool to look into planning music festivals as a career and I came across parks and recreation event management options. This has been a kind of a more recent idea for me so i have only just begun the courses tied into this major. I switched my course plans probably about a year ago. I also have some other ideas about majors i could potentially be interested in including becoming an orthodontist or also pursuing a possible career in real estate. Becoming an orthodontist is very interesting to me because I had a lot of problems with the arrangement of my teeth and I spent a lot of time having regular visits to the orthodontist office. Picking a major has been very stressful for me and i am still bouncing a lot of ideas around in my head.
